"SWAPSHOP" WEB SITE HITFLIP LAUNCHES IN BRITAIN

Hitflip, a Web site where people can swap their possessions which has around 110,000 users in Germany, has acquired British online exchange portal Swopex and is hoping to achieve a similar success to eBay in the UK. To this end Hitflip has brought in Adam Finlayson, the man behind the Crazy Frog phenomenon, to run the British business. Joint managing director Gerald Schonbucher said: "In the UK, the popular Eighties morning TV show for children, Noel Edmonds's Swap Shop, became essential viewing for millions so we know you're a nation of would-be swappers."
