This is a great continuation of the Nick Stone series of novels. Again, the story moves at a good pace, but this may be partly due to the way it was written. There's more focus on his buddy and how they interact with their surroundings. In addition, McNab appears to have included significant characters to consider. The story is different in that he's not really on a military mission, but one to save his buddy so it's not so narrow or one-minded. McNab also writes more about human interaction and emotion. Although Nick normally finishes up worse off than when he started (i.e., friends and family dying), this story does have a subtle happy ending!
